Commissioner Andolino Keynotes Global Supply Chain Forum at Loyola University Chicago

CHICAGO, 2012-11-09 — /travelprnews.com/ — Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino was the keynote speaker today at a forum entitled “State of Chicago in the Global Supply Chain” at Loyola University Chicago. The event is Chicago’s premiere supply chain event, bringing together industry, academia and government to discuss the supply chain issues facing Chicagobusinesses.

Andolino was invited to discuss the integral role Chicago’s airports play in connecting the region’s economy to the rest of the world. During her presentation, she talked about Chicago’s continued growth in passenger and air cargo service and the investments being made at O’Hare International Airport to build its competitive edge in the global aviation system, especially through the O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP), O’Hare Northeast Cargo Center and perishable cargo facility.

This event also featured panels on leveraging Chicago’s resources for competitive advantage, the growing use of intermodal in the area, forthcoming challenges to Chicago’s supply chain, and the logistics of moving product in the area. Other speakers at the event included Ann Drake, CEO, DSC Logistics; Matt Hart, Executive Director, Illinois Trucking Association; Jim Lewis, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Fellowes; Don Maltby, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Hub Group; and Mike Regan, President, TranzAct.
