2012-10-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — Ms Rebecca Zhang, PR and Publicity Director for Cartier China, was at Tang Polo Club Beijing yesterday to attend the launch event for the first Cartier International China Polo Challenge. Joining her at this elegant evening reception, held within the hotel at Tang Polo Club were the event’s host Mr Shilai Liu, China’s leading polo player, and members of the core team from Guards Polo Club in the UK, who are organising this polo tournament on behalf of both Cartier and Tang Polo Club.
After a welcome speech from Guards Polo Club’s Chief Executive Neil Hobday, patrons and players stepped forward to receive their team shirts from their team sponsors, which included Mr Roland Fasel of Dorchester Collection. La Martina, the Argentine polo and clothing brand, which designed and created the event’s team shirts, was represented by Ms Florencia Cavalieri.
Earlier in the afternoon the players had an opportunity to try out their horses in an informal practice session and are now ready to begin the tournament, which starts today (Thursday) at 2pm. Jim Whisenand and Maria Lorenzo from Equus & Co have flown in from the USA to watch their team in action today.
Three days of league matches will conclude this Sunday with an impressive final, where the leading two teams will play for the impressive Cartier International China Polo Challenge Trophy.
