Canada: Sunshine Village announced the opening of the internationally recognised Delirium Dive

BANFF, AB, Canada, 2014-2-28 — /Travel PR News/ — Home to some of the most extreme in-bounds terrain in North America, Sunshine Village has announced that the internationally recognised Delirium Dive will open today.

The area is renowned for its challenging runs, 2,000 feet of vertical and 40 degree average pitch that tests the strength of even the most experienced skiers and snowboarders. The Dive is accessible from a five metre band of rock that crowns the top where you can drop in. Or for a more moderate approach, stairs allow access to more tame ground. Amongst other recognition, the terrain was recently noted for its extreme level by USA Today and CNN.

Entry into Delirium Dive is only available to those with an avalanche transceiver, shovel, retractable probe and who have an equipped buddy with equal ability and comfortable at expert level skiing or snowboarding.
Access to Delirium Dive comes just a week after the opening of Wild West which is also popular for its steepness and tough runs.

The opening of Delirium Dive compliments the already outstanding terrain offered at the Lake Louise Ski Resort and Mt. Norquay. Lake Louise offers an incredible array of back bowls, including Boomerang, ER3 and ER7. The resort is looking to offer further expert level options with more areas undergoing avalanche control as the season progresses. Mt. Norquay continues to provide advanced and expert terrain from the North American Chair that serves up steeps and moguls with the best backdrop of Banff you could ask for.
