Bristol Airport: bmi regional adds new seasonal route to the island of Jersey

Bristol, UK, 2016-May-02 — /Travel PR News/ — On sale from today and commencing on 16 July, the weekly flights will depart on Saturday direct from Bristol to Jersey. With fares from just £80 one way or £125 return, the route offers excellent value for money.

Jersey is just a short flight from Bristol yet takes travellers to another world where pretty villages, historical attractions and beautiful sandy beaches await.

Highlights of a holiday to the island include visiting the underground tunnels from World War II including the German Underground Hospital. Jersey has more than its fair share of castles including the impressive Mont Orgueil Castle, here visitors can explore staircases, towers and secret rooms to discover how the castle has stood proud over the island for more than 600 years, protecting islanders from French invasion. Other attractions include Durrell Wildlife Park, famed for its conservation efforts, La Mare Wine Estate and Jersey Pearl.

The natural gradient and size of the island makes Jersey in ideal destination for cycling. Holidaymakers could easily get around the entire island by bike, taking in key attractions and beaches en-route. Foodies, meanwhile, can immerse themselves in Jersey’s gastronomic scene which has seen influences from the UK, France and Germany result in a number of world class restaurants including three with Michelin stars.

There is not a shortage of places to stay on the island either with a wide choice of hotels, cottages, B&Bs and campsites.

The introduction of the Jersey flight for the summer season to the largest of the Channel Islands, less than one hour’s flight time from Bristol offers a destination with a variety of magnificent castles, activities and events that will suit all customers.”

The route commences on 16 July and operates until 3 September. Fares cost from £80 one way and £125 return. All fares are inclusive of 20kg hand luggage, complimentary drinks and snacks on board, allocated leather seating, dedicated manned check-in and a speedy 30 minute check-in time.

The launch follows on from a busy year for the airline in Bristol. bmi regional has enforced links with the airport and local businesses including a three year partnership with Bath Rugby. On 7 May, bmi regional will be throwing 50 balls into the air at a Bath Rugby match, with eight containing winning tickets to travel with the airline.

bmi regional also recently increased its rotations and improved flight times on its existing routes out of Bristol. The airline currently operates seven routes from Bristol to Aberdeen, Paris, Milan, Munich, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Hamburg. Codeshares with Lufthansa and the airline’s own existing inter-European routes also means that passengers from the south-west can use Bristol as a gateway to hundreds of worldwide destinations.
