Bristol Airport Anticipates Busy Bank Holiday Weekend

2013-05-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Over 90,000 passengers are expected to use Bristol Airport over the Bank Holiday weekend (Friday 24 May – Monday 27 May inclusive).

With the summer season already in full swing, airlines and tour operators are reporting strong demand. New services this summer include flights to Bulgaria and Corsica and both offer something for all the family, from beaches to historical sites of interest. Turkey is also proving popular, with a wide range of all-inclusive holidays making it an ideal choice for those wanting the certainty of staying within a set budget.

In addition, a new service from bmi regional to Milan Malpensa operates six times a week, making short breaks to the Italian city, with its wealth of history and designer fashion, a convenient option.

However, it is not all one way traffic. Bristol Airport is expecting an influx of visitors from around the UK and overseas as travellers fly in to meet friends and family to celebrate the holiday weekend together or to visit the region’s attractions.

Departing passengers are reminded to allow extra time for their journey to the Airport over the busy Bank Holiday weekend. In order to complete essential processes such as check-in, security and boarding, passengers are advised to arrive a minimum of two hours in advance of their flight departure.

Shaun Browne, Aviation Director at Bristol Airport, said:
“Bank Holidays are always busy, with people taking advantage of the long weekend to visit friends and family, see new places or get away for a well earned rest. Whatever its purpose, we will be working hard to ensure passengers have a convenient and stress-free start to their journeys.”
