Bath Tourism Plus welcomed passengers from the inaugural SAS flight from Stockholm as it landed in at Bristol Airport

BATH,  2014-7-3 — /Travel PR News/ — This morning, Bath Tourism Plus welcomed passengers from the inaugural SAS flight from Stockholm as it landed in at Bristol Airport.

Bath Tourism Plus was joined by the Mayor of Bath, Cllr Cherry Beath and No.1 Royal Crescent’s very own Georgian Housekeeper Glenys Hale along with colleagues from both Bristol Airport and SAS Airlines.

Nick Brooks-Sykes, Chief Executive of Bath Tourism Plus, says: “Bath has a rich heritage, which makes it a fantastic city break destination that combines history, contemporary culture and world-class tourist attractions all within easy reach of Bristol airport.

The new Scandinavian route has the potential to bring thousands of visitors to the West of England, and it is estimated that the new flight alone could generate over £1 million to the local visitor economy.”

The SAS flights will operate twice a week (on Mondays and Fridays) from 30 June to 15 August 2014, using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The schedule has been designed with 4 night midweek or 3 night weekend leisure breaks in mind with Bristol and Bath expected to prove popular with the Swedish market looking for a new city break destination.

The new Swedish campaign website www.visitbathandbristol.se supported by Bath Tourism Plus alongside SAS, Bristol Airport, Destination Bristol and VisitEngland was launched in conjunction with the arrival of the new route.
