AUSTRIA, 2015-7-6 — /Travel PR News/ — Right on time for the start of the summer holidays, Austrian Airlines is launching numerous family-friendly summer campaigns: this Saturday, 4 July and Sunday, 5 July 2015, for instance, Austrian flight attendants will be handing out free ice creams from Eskimo on all Austrian myHoliday holiday flights. A total of over 6,500 ice creams – weighing 391 kilos – will be given away to passengers, all kept cool with the help of around 500 kilos of dry ice. The domestic carrier is also opening a Family Check-In at Vienna Airport this year. This is to be located in the Austrian Star Alliance Terminal, and open seven days a week between 30 June and 12 September 2015. After Check-in, every child will be given a small gift together with their boarding pass – a blow-up aircraft or beach ball.

Over 60,000 children fly on holiday with Austrian
It’s all about children and families with Austrian Airlines. Approximately 350,000 children under the age of 12 travel with Austrian Airlines every year. In the holiday months of July and August alone, over 60,000 children will be taking their holiday with Austria’s domestic carrier. Austrian Airlines offers very special services and benefits for families, all of which will be up and running for the coming holiday season. Families with children can comfortably board the aircraft ahead of all other passengers, for instance, stow their luggage and take their seats without getting stressed out. Once they’re in their seats, children are given a toy, games and puzzles by the Austrian flight attendants. On flights lasting longer than 3.5 hours, Austrian Airlines ensures its youngest passengers are well-fed with special babies’ and children’s menus. All long-haul flights offer an entertainment programme especially for children, with both video and audio features (children’s songs, talking books).
