Annual “Open Day” in Gherardesca Park at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze

5th annual Open Day on December 16 supports the Istituto degli Innocenti

Florence, Italy – 2012-12-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — It is one of the most longed-for events of the pre-Christmas period: the wonderful Gherardesca Park, an integral part of Four SeasonsHotel Firenze, will be open to the public and, in particular, to children of all ages.

On December 16, 2012 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm the Hotel grants free access through the three entrances of Borgo Pinti 97, Via Gino Capponi 54 and Piazza Donatello to the city’s largest private park on the occasion of the Open Day, in support of Florence’s Istituto degli Innocenti and its activities in favour of children.

People can contribute to the initiative by donating the symbolic sum of EUR 1.00 to the historic Institute, which has been taking care of children since the 1400s. Parents and children will be free to browse and shop at the many Christmas market stalls, taste chestnuts, sausages and polenta and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, spicy vin brulè or a good glass of wine. Entertainment for children will be provided by Bottega dei Ragazzi, Compagnia di Babbo Natale, the magic TruccaFate, the Melograno Children Chorus,  performing at noon, followed by the flight of balloons to which children’s letters to Santa Claus have been tied. Guest star of the initiative is Italian comedian Flavio Insinna, who will be describing the event live on radio Rai Radio 2, the event’s media partner.
