ALPA recognized Delta Air Lines Capt. Dan Coogan with Presidential Citation

Canton Pilot Honored for Contributions to Aviation Safety

WASHINGTON, D.C., 2018-Aug-07 — /Travel PR News/ — The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) today (August 02, 2018) recognized Delta Air Lines Capt. Dan Coogan with a Presidential Citation for his outstanding efforts to enhance aviation safety. The award was presented during ALPA’s 64th Air Safety Forum in Washington, D.C.

Capt. Coogan has been a key promoter and supporter throughout the years in helping move the industry toward analysis-based safety recommendations and has been a strong supporter of just-culture principles as well. Through his dedicated efforts, he has earned the reputation as a leading subject-matter expert for aviation safety programs and never hesitates to offer helpful guidance to a wide variety of ALPA safety volunteers as they work to foster healthy programs at their respective companies.
