Allegiant launches nonstop service from El Paso, Texas to San Diego

SAN DIEGO, 2016-May-09 — /Travel PR News/ — Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) today launches new, nonstop service from El Paso, Texas to San Diego. To celebrate Allegiant’s new route between El Paso and San Diego, the company, known for its exceptional travel deals, is offering one-way fares for as low as $39.*

“We are very excited to give travelers from El Paso an opportunity to visit sunny San Diego with these new flights,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “We look forward to bringing more economic growth and visitors to San Diego’s beaches and attractions with this new service.”

The new service will operate twice weekly and expand on the routes Allegiant currently operates to San Diego International Airport (SAN). With this new flight, Allegiant will now serve three routes to San Diego including service from Bellingham, Washington and Stockton, California. The route will bring nearly 35,000 additional visitors each year to the San Diego area and generate an estimated $15.9 million in annual visitor spending. Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com.

“With more than 40,000 passengers flying annually between San Diego and El Paso, San Diego International Airport is excited and proud to have this new flight, which will create much-needed capacity for business and tourism travel between our two regions,” said Thella F. Bowens, SAN’s President/CEO.

“From world-class family attractions to vibrant neighborhoods with great art, culture and nightlife, San Diego has something to offer every kind of traveler. San Diego saw a record number of visitors in 2014 and 2015, which is why it is so important to continue to develop new and improved ways for visitors to access the region. I am thrilled that Allegiant will now be offering a convenient, new way to travel to San Diego for El Paso and Stockton residents and others that may connect through those airports,” said Joe Terzi, President and CEO, San Diego Tourism Authority.

Allegiant’s innovative business model has allowed it to grow from one plane and one route to offering access to low-cost flights in over 100 cities nationwide, more than any other domestic low-cost carrier.
