Abu Dhabi Aviation & Aerospace Week

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 2016-Mar-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2016 and the Middle East Aviation Careers Conference & Exhibition begin tomorrow at Al Bateen Executive Airport, the emirate’s dedicated business aviation airport. Both events are part of the region’s first Abu Dhabi Aviation and Aerospace Week, which is held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi Emirate.

Abu Dhabi Air Expo brings together major players in aviation, enabling attendees to discover the industry’s latest developments and innovations. This year’s event will also play host to the Abu Dhabi Heli Expo for the first time, showcasing the best of the helicopter industry.

Air Expo 2016 occupies nearly 60,000 square meters of space at Al Bateen Executive Airport, with around 300 manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting the latest private aircraft, helicopters, airport equipment and services, avionics, and providing information on insurance and financing.

There will be a number of aircraft making their debut at Air Expo for 2016, including one of Etihad Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, an A320 charter aircraft, and one of Saudi’s Sky Prime A340 aircraft.

Abu Dhabi Air Expo will host a daily airshow display from 2:00-3:00pm to include acrobatic shows from Fursan Al Emarat, Red Bull, Breitling and two trainer aircraft from Etihad Flight College.

Running alongside the three day show is the Middle East Aviation Career Conference & Exhibition (MEAC), which will be held at the Gulf Center for Aviation Studies (GCAS). This inaugural conference will highlight key issues facing this dynamic industry, such as the challenge of secure human capital. Two of the conference discussions will center around how to develop national talent, and ways to attract more women to the aviation and aerospace sectors.

“The Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2016 and the Middle East Aviation Careers Conference emphasize the capital’s position as an industry frontrunner across the region and beyond. Aviation stakeholders have an unparalleled opportunity to discuss the latest innovations and share best practices,” said His Excellency Ali Majed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports.

H.E. added: “Through Air Expo, we are proud to support Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, which identifies aviation as a key sector that will lead to the diversification of our economy.”

More than 20,000 visitors are expected to make their way to the event and over 150 aircraft, from ultra-light to heavy business jets, are on display to be explored by aircraft enthusiasts and businesses searching for the best airplanes and aviation-related services.
