(NEWS) SEPANG, Malaysia, 2025-Sep-8 — /Travel PR News/ — AirAsia has officially launched Cebu as its newest hub in the Philippines, marking a significant step in its multi-hub strategy and reinforcing its commitment to growth and connectivity across Asean. Set to commence operations on 15 November 2025, the Cebu hub will initially serve five routes including Cebu–Kuala Lumpur, Cebu–Macao, Cebu–Davao, Cebu–Caticlan, and Cebu–Iloilo, with more destinations expected to follow. This development positions Cebu as a vital gateway for AirAsia Philippines (Z2), complementing Manila and strengthening access to both domestic and international markets.
For Malaysian travellers, the hub creates smoother links to the Visayas and Mindanao, while also providing direct connections to leisure destinations such as Bohol and Davao. Passengers from Cebu, in turn, will enjoy access to over 130 destinations via AirAsia’s Kuala Lumpur mega hub, including options across Asean, North Asia, and Europe. AirAsia Group Chief Commercial Officer Amanda Woo praised the support of Mactan Cebu International Airport and government partners in enabling the expansion, describing it as a move that will generate new economic opportunities while boosting tourism and trade. Promotional fares from PHP904 for domestic routes and RM288 for international flights are now available for travel beginning November 2025.
