(IN SHORT) Silversea has completed the revitalization of Silver Spirit, introducing upgraded public spaces, a new Mediterranean-inspired poolside concept called Riviera, and the debut of the brand’s S.A.L.T. culinary immersion programme onboard the ship. Silver Spirit has returned to service with new Northern Europe itineraries before embarking later this year on an extended Grand Voyage Mediterranean visiting 40 destinations across 12 countries.
(PRESS RELEASE) MIAMI, FL, 2026-May-8 — /Travel PR News/ — Silversea has completed a major revitalization of its luxury cruise ship Silver Spirit, introducing refreshed public spaces, expanded culinary experiences, and the debut of the brand’s award-winning S.A.L.T. programme onboard for the first time. The upgraded vessel has now returned to service and is beginning a new season of voyages across Northern Europe before later embarking on an extended Mediterranean itinerary.
The refurbishment reflects Silversea’s broader strategy of combining luxury travel with immersive destination-focused experiences, blending onboard lifestyle enhancements with deeper cultural and culinary connections tied to each itinerary.
Bert Hernandez, President of Silversea, described the revitalization as an important milestone for the fleet, noting that the redesigned spaces and expanded dining concepts were developed to create a more relaxed yet immersive onboard atmosphere. He said the updates are intended to elevate both the social and destination-driven aspects of the guest experience as Silver Spirit sails through culturally rich regions of Europe.
One of the most significant additions to the ship is Riviera, a newly developed poolside lifestyle concept inspired by Mediterranean coastal living. Designed as an all-day social and leisure space, Riviera transitions throughout the day from a calm wellness-oriented environment in the mornings to a more vibrant social atmosphere in the evenings.
The redesigned pool deck includes upgraded outdoor furniture, daybeds, loungers, and shaded relaxation areas alongside expanded wellness and recreational offerings such as a golf putting green, golf simulator, fitness activities, and open-air entertainment spaces. Silversea said the concept is intended to encourage guests to remain socially engaged and active throughout the voyage while maintaining the relaxed atmosphere associated with luxury resort living.
Riviera also introduces a new poolside dining and beverage experience featuring casual Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, seafood dishes, plant-based options, salads, wraps, and grilled specialties. Beverage offerings include spritzes, poolside cocktails, curated wines, Champagne, and non-alcoholic alternatives designed around warm-weather sailing and Mediterranean-inspired social culture.
Alongside Riviera, Silver Spirit now features the full S.A.L.T. programme, which focuses on immersive culinary and cultural experiences connected directly to destinations visited during each voyage. New onboard venues include S.A.L.T. Kitchen, offering regionally inspired menus; S.A.L.T. Bar, serving local spirits and destination-themed cocktails; and S.A.L.T. Lab, where guests can participate in hands-on cooking classes exploring regional ingredients, recipes, and culinary traditions.
Additional upgrades include a redesigned Venetian Lounge featuring new drapery, carpeting, reupholstered seating, and a new LED wall aimed at enhancing onboard entertainment experiences.
Following the refurbishment, Silver Spirit is now operating a series of Northern European itineraries that combine scenic landscapes with cultural destinations. Upcoming voyages include sailings between Southampton, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Lisbon, with itineraries featuring destinations such as Norway’s fjords, Scotland’s islands, the Baltic coast, Bordeaux, Bilbao, and Santander.
One highlighted voyage includes access to the internationally renowned Edinburgh Military Tattoo during a stop in Newhaven near Edinburgh. Another focuses on wine and culinary experiences across France and northern Spain during the grape harvest season.
Later in 2026, Silver Spirit will operate the Grand Voyage Mediterranean, a 50-day itinerary visiting 40 destinations across 12 countries. The programme will include both major Mediterranean cities and smaller regional ports, alongside curated cultural events such as a Renaissance-themed experience in Florence and an exclusive evening at Istanbul’s historic Şerefiye Cistern.
Silversea said the revitalization of Silver Spirit reflects growing demand among luxury travellers for more immersive, experience-led cruising that combines destination exploration, gastronomy, wellness, and personalized onboard environments.
