New Pelicargo Partnership Strengthens Emirates SkyCargo’s Digital Airfreight Booking Strategy
(IN SHORT) Emirates SkyCargo has integrated its cargo booking services with Pelicargo, becoming the first Middle Eastern cargo airline to establish API connectivity with the U.S.-focused digital airfreight platform. The partnership allows freight forwarders and logistics customers to access real-time bookings and cargo capacity through Pelicargo’s marketplace. Emirates SkyCargo said the move supports growing customer demand for digital booking solutions in the United States and forms part of the airline’s broader digitalisation strategy. The carrier’s core cargo products, including temperature-controlled and priority freight services, are now available on the platform.
(PRESS RELEASE) DUBAI, UAE, 2026-May-8 — /Travel PR News/ — Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its digital booking capabilities through a new integration with Pelicargo, a U.S.-focused online airfreight procurement and booking platform, as the carrier continues accelerating its digital transformation strategy within the cargo sector.
The cargo division of Emirates has become the first Middle Eastern airline cargo operator to establish API connectivity with Pelicargo, enabling freight forwarders and logistics customers to access real-time booking capabilities directly through the platform. The integration allows immediate cargo reservations and broader digital access to Emirates SkyCargo’s global network and cargo products.
According to Emirates SkyCargo, the move comes amid growing demand from U.S.-based customers for digital booking solutions and automated cargo management tools. Over the past year, the airline has recorded a significant increase in customers shifting from traditional manual booking methods toward digital platforms such as eSkyCargo and third-party online marketplaces.
By joining Pelicargo, Emirates SkyCargo expects to increase its visibility among thousands of freight forwarders and logistics providers in the United States while offering customers greater control, flexibility, and 24-hour access to booking services.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, said digitalisation has become increasingly important to the airline’s cargo operations, helping improve information exchange, streamline booking processes, and support operational efficiency. He described the Pelicargo integration as another step in the airline’s strategy to strengthen engagement with both existing and new customers in the U.S. market.
Jon Acquaviva, Co-Founder and President of Pelicargo, said the partnership reflects a shared focus on customer-centred digital solutions aimed at making air cargo services more accessible, efficient, and connected. He added that the integration enables customers across the United States to access Emirates SkyCargo’s global cargo network more directly through the Pelicargo platform.
Through the integration, Emirates SkyCargo’s core cargo products are now available for booking on Pelicargo. These include Fresh and Fresh Breathe for temperature-sensitive perishables, Pharma for life sciences and healthcare shipments requiring controlled environments, Airfreight Priority for urgent shipments, and AirFreight services for general cargo transportation.
Pelicargo becomes the fourth major digital marketplace to integrate Emirates SkyCargo capacity following previous partnerships with cargo.one, CargoAi, and WebCargo. Emirates SkyCargo said its broader digital marketplace strategy is designed to ensure customers can access services through their preferred booking channels while benefiting from enhanced schedule visibility, real-time capacity information, tariff transparency, and immediate booking functionality.
The expansion reflects broader trends within the global air cargo industry, where airlines and freight forwarders are increasingly investing in digital platforms, API connectivity, and automated booking systems to improve efficiency, reduce manual processing, and respond more quickly to evolving customer expectations.
