Woodland Park Zoo celebrates Independence Day with Fourth of July-themed picnic for the animals

SEATTLE, WA, 2016-Jun-20 — /Travel PR News/ —

WHAT: It’s a Fourth of July picnic—animal style—for orangutans, grizzlies, otters, and more as Woodland Park Zoo’s animal residents indulge in star-shaped popsicles, watermelon, corn on the cob, and other picnic favorites at Red, White & Zoo June 30 and July 1.

The Fourth of July-themed treats are part of the excellent animal care program at Woodland Park Zoo and the zookeepers’ ongoing efforts to help enrich the lives of the animals, promote natural animal behavior, keep animals mentally and physically stimulated and engage zoo visitors.

And don’t miss Yola, the zoo’s 6-month-old, female gorilla who is in the outdoor exhibit with her family 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. daily. Visit “Yola fits right in with her gorilla family” and follow #GrowWithYola for updates and to share photos and stories
