BUDAPEST, Hungary, 2018-May-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Wizz Air, one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe and the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced the 5-year extension of the title sponsorship of Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon, one of the most prestigious running events in Hungary.
Demonstrating Wizz Air’s long-standing commitment to mobilize people and promote active lifestyle, the airline has been the title sponsor of Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon since 2014, and is also sponsoring a number of running events in its base cities across Europe. The Wizz Air Debrecen Airport Run, the Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon, the Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon, the Wizz Air Sofia Marathon, the Wizz Air Katowice Half Marathon and the Wizz Air Skopje Marathon are popular running events among both local professional and amateur runners as well as the visitors of the cities. In 2017 over 42 000 people participated in these running events across Europe.
In 2017, a record 15,000 runners from 73 countries participated in the Budapest event, with over 10,000 running solo, and the rest in teams of two or three. The 33rd Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon will take place in Budapest, the capital of Hungary on 9 September, 2018.
