Vienna Airport reports 1,354,938 passengers in February 2014, up 1.8 % YoY

VIENNA, 2014-03-14 — /Travel PR News/ — The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport in February 2014 rose by 1.8% year-on-year to 1,354,938. Flight movements declined by 2.4%, while maximum take-off weight and cargo increased increased 0.7% and 6.1% over February of the previous year.

A comparison between February 2014 and February 2013 shows a 4.2% decline in the number of transfer passengers and a 4.1% increase in the number of local passengers.

Passenger traffic to Western Europe was 1.7% higher in February 2014, while the number of passengers travelling to Eastern Europe fell by 1.5%. Growth of 3.5% and 7.5%, respectively, was recorded by destinations in the Middle East and the Far East. The number of passengers travelling to North America rose by a strong 29.0% year-on-year in February 2014.
