Los Angeles, California, 2012-08-28 — /travelprnews.com/ — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has informed Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials of the closure of Lincoln Boulevard (SR-1) from Sepulveda Boulevard to McConnell Avenue beginning Monday, August 27 through Friday, August 31 as part of a pavement rehabilitation project. Caltrans work aims to enhance safety and mobility as well as upgrade existing curb ramps to Americans with Disability Act standards.
The closures are scheduled between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with only one lane in each direction closed at a time. Detours will be posted and motorists will be rerouted onto Westchester Parkway, the roadway immediately north of and parallel to Lincoln Boulevard. No major traffic congestion is expected, but travelers are reminded to arrive at LAX two hours prior to a domestic flight and three hours prior to an international flight.
