Tourism Industry Association New Zealand releases travel guides for visitors from Indonesia and Brazil at TRENZ 2015

WELLINGTON, 2015-5-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Two booklets that aim to help New Zealand tourism operators be better hosts to Brazilian and Indonesian visitors have been released by the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIA) today.

The guides to getting ready for visitors from Indonesia and Brazil were released today at TRENZ 2015, the New Zealand tourism industry’s biggest annual international business event.

“These guides provide practical tips and information, and are a basic but useful starting point to help businesses deliver an outstanding visitor experience to visitors from our emerging markets,” TIA Chief Executive Chris Roberts says.

They follow two very popular briefs for China and India issued by TIA in 2012.

“Brazil and Indonesia have been identified as growing and potentially valuable markets for New Zealand tourism. They have different needs and expectations to our traditional markets like Australian, British and American visitors,” Mr Roberts says.

“To properly realise the potential of these new tourism markets and reach the Tourism 2025 goal of almost doubling total annual tourism revenue to $41 billion a year, we must understand and be confident in our ability to deliver the hospitality and experiences they are looking for. Our visitor mix is changing quickly and our approach has to change with it.”

“We want to encourage these travellers to stay longer, spend more and tell their friends and families that New Zealand is a fantastic destination,” Mr Roberts says.

The booklets highlight cultural differences that operators may need to consider such as dietary and religious requirements for Indonesian Muslims.

They will be available to all TIA members in both hard copy and on TIA’s website www.tianz.org.nz/main/cultural-briefs
