Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International Organize Thailand Visit for Travel Agents from Kolkata, India

New Delhi, India, 2012-09-11 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) New Delhi office and Thai Airways International (Kolkata) jointly organized an Agents’ Educational Trip for Kolkata travel agents to visit Thailand from 07 to 12 August, 2012. The group of 10 agents enjoyed visiting and learning about tourism products in Surat Thani, Ko Samui and Bangkok.

In Ko Samui, the travel agents visited Nora Buri Resort & Spa, The Kala, Silavadee Pool Spa Resort, Amari Palm Reef, Chaweng Cove Beach Resort, Kirikayan Boutique Resort, and New Star Resort. They also spent time at the island’s major attractions including the View Point, Grandfather and Grandmother Rock, the Big Buddha, Chaweng Beach, and the night market.

In Bangkok, the travel agents visited the Swissotel Nai Lert Park, Novotel Platinum, Grande Centre Point Ratchdamri and The Landmark Bangkok. They experienced some of the capital’s many tourist attractions, enjoying a performance at Siam Niramit and visiting the Grand Palace and several of Bangkok’s newest shopping malls.

The travel agents’ itinerary covered the range of accommodations available to Indian visitors to Thailand, including modern and hip hotels aimed at young travelers and family-oriented hotels.

The TAT introduced Ko Samui as a new destination for travel agents from West Bengal, while the two outlying islands of Ko Nang Yuan and Ko Tao were promoted as a paradise for divers. The Indian travel agents tried out the alternate route to Ko Samui via a ferry from Surat Thani. The trip clearly demonstrated to the travel agents how Thailand is the destination they should recommend for families, young travelers and honeymooners from India.
