The Broad Appeal raises £20K at Charity Event

2012-07-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — Gemma Broad together with brother Stuart Broad and father Chris Broad, current and former international England cricketers, hosted the Broad Appeal Charity Golf Day and Dinner at Stapleford Park on Wednesday 11th July 2012.

The Broad Appeal was established by the three of them when Chris’s wife Miche’s personal battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) came to an end in July 2010. The Broad Appeal seeks to raise awareness about MND and funding research into this terminal disease.

The Broad Appeal successfully raised over £20,000 with the support from attendees like Mike Gatting (former English International cricketer), Geordan Murphy (Leicester Tigers Captain and Irish International rugby player), Matt Smith (Leicester Tigers player) and Jonathan Agnew (former English International cricketer and journalist).

“The sun shone on our golf day which proved to be a very successful event in the most wonderful surroundings. Stapleford Park have been terrifically supportive and many generous people enjoyed a dinner in the Grand Hall after the golf event. We must say a huge thank you to all those who took part, golfers, diners and the event’s sponsors, who together with some amazing donators helped us achieve a figure way beyond our expectations” commented Nick Joyce, Event Organiser.
