Warwick Brady will formally join Swissport on 1 May 2021 as President & CEO. He will succeed Christoph Mueller, who has been acting as the interim President & CEO since 1 January 2021.
“With Warwick now on board we will be able to further step up our efforts to get Swissport ready for a swift ramp-up post Covid”, says Christoph Mueller. “Together with leaders and dedicated staff across the globe, we will embark on an exciting journey to transform the company into a more agile and innovative organization and a partner of choice for airlines around the world. We want to achieve cost-leadership wherever possible and provide our customers with better process flexibility and system compatibility than any competitor.”
“I am honored and thrilled to lead this great company”, says Warwick Brady. “There is work ahead, but also great opportunities to grow and expand. Swissport looks back on an impressive growth story since its foundation some 25 years ago, but it has not come even close to realizing its full potential as a leading provider of aviation ground services. I am very much looking forward to taking the company to the next level.”
In 2020, Swissport International AG provided best-in-class airport ground services for some 82 million airline passengers (pre-Covid 2019: 265 million) and handled roughly 4.1 million tons of air freight (2019: 4.6 million) at over 100 cargo warehouses worldwide. Several of its warehouses have been certified for pharmaceutical logistics by IATA’s CEIV Pharma and by the British MHRA. The world’s leader in airport ground services and air cargo handling, with currently around 45,000 employees, was active at 269 airports in 47 countries on six continents at the end of 2020.
