Discovery Global Experiences are bringing the iconic world of DC Comics to life this summer with DC Summer—a first-of-its-kind collaboration that transforms select Gaylord Hotels into immersive superhero playgrounds. Launching this May, the initiative will feature more than a dozen themed attractions, from heroic scavenger hunts and character dining to high-octane water park celebrations and exclusive merchandise pop-ups.

At the heart of the summer-long experience is Universe of Light Featuring DC, an all-new lantern show available exclusively at Gaylord Texan Resort. This groundbreaking attraction will dazzle guests with 1,000 handcrafted, illuminated lanterns, including towering 24-foot recreations of DC’s most beloved characters and locations—from Gotham City to Themyscira. Created by master artisans from Zigong, China, these glowing installations blend centuries-old lantern-making traditions with modern superhero storytelling.

Beyond the headline attraction, visitors at Gaylord Opryland (Nashville), Gaylord Palms (Kissimmee), Gaylord Rockies (Aurora), and Gaylord Texan (Grapevine) can expect an array of adventures including character meet-and-greets, themed dining with both heroes and villains, and hands-on crafts at the DC Super Hero Craft Zone.

The Battle for Justice Light Show, a nightly spectacle combining visual effects and DC lore, will thrill guests of all ages, while the DC Super Hero Academy Live Show offers young fans the chance to train alongside their favorite heroes. Guests can also enjoy themed drinks and treats, unlock a Super Secret Menu, and cool off during the DC Super Hero Splash and Movie Night Poolside events.

Custom merchandise—like limited-edition comics, themed autograph books, and hero gear—will be available exclusively at each property, along with the DC Super Hero Supply Pack, handed out at check-in to kick off every stay with a heroic flair.
