CHICAGO, 2012-07-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Spirit Airlines today announced it will add new nonstop service between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Tampa, Florida and Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona.
The new routes are seasonal, with service for both to begin on November 8, 2012 and continue through April 24, 2013.

“On behalf of Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the City of Chicago, I commend Spirit Airlines for continuing to increase its destinations and travel options from O’Hare International Airport,” said Rosemarie S. Andolino, Commissioner for the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA).” Spirit Airlines’ rapid growth in service over the last year at O’Hare is great news for travelers and further proof that Chicago is a high-demand market.”
Spirit Airlines has operated from Terminal 3 at O’Hare since October 2000.
With the addition of Phoenix-Mesa and Tampa service announced earlier today, Spirit will offer nonstop service from Chicago O’Hare to 15 cities over the course of the year. The destinations include Atlantic City (seasonal); Boston (seasonal); Dallas/Ft. Worth; Denver; Detroit; Fort Lauderdale; Fort Myers (seasonal); Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Minneapolis/St. Paul; Myrtle Beach (seasonal); New York/LaGuardia; Orlando; Phoenix/Mesa (seasonal) and Tampa (seasonal).
