South African Airways: yellow fever vaccinations no longer necessary for travel between Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa

JOHANNESBURG, 2015-2-12 — /Travel PR News/ — South African Airways (SAA) has welcomed the scrapping of yellow fever vaccinations, which is no longer necessary for travel between Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa.

The announcement was made by the South African Department of Health and the requirement was lifted with immediate effect.

The decision was made at the World Health Assembly in Geneva and comes after the World Health Organisation confirmed that Zambia had low yellow fever potential exposure status, which means travellers should not be required to carry a yellow fever vaccination certificate.

“We are very pleased with this announcement as our flights from Lusaka, Ndola, and Livingstone in Zambia, as well as Dar es Salaam in Tanzania will be even more popular with travellers.

“We welcome all changes which will ease travel to South Africa and allow for easier connections at our world class hub at OR Tambo International Airport” says Sylvain Bosc, SAA Chief Commercial Officer.
