September Events and Discounts at ZooAmerica

Ranger Scratch Back-to-School Barbecue
On Friday, September 7, guests visiting ZooAmerica from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. can enjoy games, crafts, story-time, animal encounters and a free barbeque dinner to celebrate the return of the school year. This year’s theme will reflect the Zoo’s newest visitor, Sugar, an albino alligator. No party is complete without appearances by Ranger Scratch, the Zoo’s mascot, and his Hershey’s Product Character friends. This event is free with the purchase of the Zoo’s regular admission.

Grandparents Day
Children are encouraged to bring their grandparents to the Zoo for a day of fun on Sunday, September 9.ZooAmerica offers a coupon* for grandparents to receive free admission with the purchase of another full price admission throughout the day. Animal Tales
Preschool and kindergarten children are encouraged to spend a few hours at ZooAmerica during its Animal Tales program. Available Tuesdays from September 11 to October 2, kids ages 3, 4 and 5 can enjoy an animal-friendly story, craft, snack, animal encounter and short walk through ZooAmerica. Milton S. Hershey’s Birthday Celebration
Visitors to ZooAmerica on Thursday, September 13 will receive a special admission rate of $5 in honor of Milton S. Hershey’s birthday. ZooAmerica began as Hershey Zoo in 1910, when Milton Hershey formally organized his park’s growing collection of animals into a public zoo. In 1978, the Zoo was transformed into what it is today – a North American themed zoo featuring animals from five regions of the continent.

ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park is an 11-acre, year-round, walk-through zoo that is home to more than 200 animals representing more than 60 North American species. Open daily, ZooAmerica is one of only eight zoos in Pennsylvania accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and prides itself on following its mission of conservation.
