San Francisco International Airport: Qantas Airways’ resumes nonstop service from SFO to Sydney

Airport celebrates with online “selfie” contest to award two roundtrip tickets to Sydney

SAN FRANCISCO, 2015-12-21 — /Travel PR News/ — the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) welcomed the return of Qantas Airways’ nonstop service from SFO to Sydney with an honor salute from the San Francisco Fire Department and a reception event. Qantas will operate select flights through December and January, with six flights per week beginning in February. All flights will operate using Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

To further celebrate the airline’s return, SFO announced an online photo contest, titled “Picture Yourself in Australia,” inviting participants to take a selfie and upload it into an Australian-themed online postcard template for a chance to win two roundtrip tickets to Sydney on Qantas.

“We are excited to host this contest to welcome the return of Qantas to SFO,” said Charles Schuler, Director of Communications. “With this contest, participants can use a selfie – and our online postcard templates – for a chance to make a dream trip to Australia a reality on Qantas.”

To enter the Contest, participants must access the contest landing page and upload a selfie into one of the available postcard templates and share on social media. Contest ends January 5, 2016. A random drawing will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016, where one grand prize winner will win two (2) roundtrip economy tickets from SFO to Sydney on Qantas. The grand prize winner will be announced on San Francisco International Airport’s Facebook, Twitter, and other social media pages. For complete contest details, please visit Picture Yourself in Australia.
