S7 Airlines the only Russian airline to receive GREEN status from IATA Fast Travel Program

Novosibirsk, Russia, 2018-Nov-27 — /Travel PR News/ — S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld® global aviation alliance, is the first airline in Russia to receive a certificate confirming its GREEN status in the Fast Travel Program of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The program is aimed at simplifying airport procedures for passengers.

IATA appreciated S7 Airlines’s efforts to improve passenger self-service options that ensure a faster and more convenient flight check-in process. S7 Airlines is the only Russian airline to receive such a certificate from IATA.

The award of the GREEN status confirms that the airline has implemented, at least at one airport, the three mandatory projects of the Fast Travel Program — online flight check-in, remote rebooking, luggage self check-in — and at least one of the three optional ones: self-application for lost luggage search, boardng at the gate via turnstiles, self-validation of travel documents, including visas.

“We are constantly leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to upgrade and improve our passenger services, which allows us to minimize the time spent on airport procedures. This year, we introduced the luggage self check-in service and it is now available at the Domodedovo airport, our main hub. Currently a passenger can pass through all the procedures without the help of the airline staff, which makes it possible to avoid having to wait in line even at the peak hours and to save time. We are pleased that IATA gave a high rating to our work in this area,” said Svetlana Kulyukina, Director of S7 Group’s Passenger Experience Department.

“We are very happy to give this award to S7 Airlines. It confirms the airline’s active support to initiatives that simplify the airport procedures for passengers through the implementation of the IATA Fast Travel Program technologies. Continuing our collaboration with S7 Airlines and the Domodedovo airport, IATA hopes for further joint efforts as the introduction of new technologies and improvement of passenger services are the key elements of the air transportation industry’s stability. The implementation of these initiatives by S7 Airlines at one airport is a substantial step forward not just for the airline but for Russia in general. We hope that these universally recognized initiatives will soon be implemented at other Russian airports as well,” says Nuria Fermoso, Regional Program Manager for Service Improvement for IATA Passengers in Europe.

The IATA Fast Travel program is aimed at the improvement of airlines’ self-services for the convenience of passengers throughout their travel experience and reduction of carriers’ costs at the industry scale.
