Accomplished Hospitality Management Veteran with Proven Track Record Spanning 20 Years

MCLEAN, Va. 2012-09-26 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hilton Worldwide announces the appointment of Pablo Torres as the general manager of the AAA Four Diamond Hilton Short Hills located in the metropolitan New York suburban bedroom community of Short Hills, New Jersey. In his new role, Torres will oversee the day-to-day operations and management of this 304-room property which is considered one of New Jersey’s finest hotels. Torres succeeds Peter Webster, who was recently promoted to general manager, Hilton Petaling Jaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He will report directly to Ted Ratcliff, senior vice president, operations, eastern North America, Hilton Worldwide.

“Given his strong leadership qualities and ability, coupled with his background and experience in the areas of operations, food and beverage and hotel management, Pablo will bring a ‘can-do’ attitude and approach to his new role,” said Ratcliff. “Pablo’s experience having held key positions with many internationally recognized hotel companies throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, will help him take the hotel to the next level in its development.”

Most recently, Torres held the position of general manager at the 288-room British Colonial Hilton Nassau in The Bahamas. Under his leadership, he helped the property regain Four Diamond status while the hotel was awarded with the 2009 and 2011 “Most Improved Revpar” index for the Americas as well as the Brand Award of Excellence as the “Most Improved Food & Beverage” property in the Americas. As director of operations for Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico, (where he began his hospitality career as a food and beverage management trainee), Torres oversaw the F&B, engineering and rooms division areas, ensuring that all departmental service, legal and safety standards were met on a consistent basis.

Pablo possesses a successful and proven track record in hospitality management spanning over 20 years. His natural leadership qualities and abilities has led him through a multitude of accomplishments in both business development and operational streamlining from middle to large-scale volume facilities in both upscale and luxury hotels.

Over the years, Pablo has held a myriad of key positions with many internationally recognized hotel companies throughout the Caribbean and Latin America in the areas of operations, food and beverage and hotel management. He also spent a term at Hilton’s international corporate office in the United Kingdom as a corporate F&B trainer and system installer, providing him with an opportunity to work on projects globally from the UK and Europe to Asia and the Middle East.

Pablo attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio and holds an associate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He also attended Cornell University’s hospitality training programs receiving several certifications as well.

He is married to his wife of 14 years, Rita, and has two children, Valentina and Juan Pablo. Pablo recently relocated to the Short Hills area with his family.
