CHICAGO, 2016-Mar-28 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) officially welcomed two new food concessions – Summer House Santa Monica and Green Market – to O’Hare International Airport on Tuesday, March 22.
Summer House Santa Monica, from the Lettuce Entertain You restaurant group, is located in Terminal 2, past security, across from the Coach and MAC stores. It gives travelers a taste of the California-influenced American restaurant that embodies the personality and brand of the popular Summer House in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The restaurant has an open and inviting space where travelers will find a laid-back, friendly atmosphere reminiscent of a Southern California beach house. An intimate bar welcomes travelers with signature cocktails, beer, and a California-inspired wine list perfect for some relaxation before flight.
Passengers can choose from a variety of menu items through a counter service and a grab-and-go section – from salads to tacos such as the Grilled Surfer Style Baja Fish Tacos and the Grilled Ancho-Chicken Tacos. There is an array of sandwiches and burgers for travelers to choose from, house-made baked cookies and bakery items and a specially designed breakfast menu.
Green Market is a new grab and go concession located in Terminal 3, past security, near Gate L3. Green Market is a joint venture between Flying Retail, LLC and TAG Restaurants that focuses on promoting local, small businesses in the airport concessions industry.
From the food on the shelves to the LED lights on the ceiling to the metal in the walls, Green Market has put Chicagoland’s small, local businesses to work at one of the world’s busiest airports. All of the vegetables offered at Green Market are sourced locally, year-round from a hot house in Aurora, Illinois. Vendors at the store include Berghoff Brewery,Goose Island Beer Co., Red Hen Bread, Molino Baking Co., Chicago Classic Confections, Vosges Chocolates and Breadcrumb.
