Chicago, 2012-07-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — In pursuit of better batteries, cures for diseases, clean energy sources or a better understanding of the world around us, scientists often find unexpected beauty. Stunning visual examples of these occurrences are now on display for travelers to enjoy at O’Hare International Airport as part of Argonne National Laboratory’s annual “Art of Science” photo contest. The exhibit, located in the hallways connecting Terminals 2 and 3 adjacent to the Rotunda, will be on display through the end of 2012.
The photo contest represents the intersection of art and science and was created as a unique way for Argonne scientists and engineers to showcase their work and share their research with different audiences. Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) is a non-profit research laboratory operated by the University of Chicago for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). For more information about ANL, click here.

The “Art of Science” photo exhibit is part of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) Arts and Exhibition Program. The goal of the program is to enhance travelers’ airport experience by presenting aesthetically pleasing, engaging and enlightening art and exhibits throughout Chicago’s airports. In addition to its permanent art collection, the CDA features artists, cultural institutions and not-for-profit organizations in a variety of exhibition opportunities at the airports.
