Chicago, IL, 2018-Aug-02 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is pleased to announce that both O’Hare and Midway International Airports have received perfect scores from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for annual Part 139 airfield safety inspections that were completed in July.
This annual test conducted by the FAA closely examines an airport’s compliance with regulations for airfield operations including pavement, signage, lighting, markings, inspection reports, fueling operations and emergency response and preparedness.
“Safety and security for the flying public will always be our number one priority for Chicago’s airports,” said Jamie Rhee, Commissioner, CDA. “O’Hare and Midway are recognized across the country for providing safe environments for more than 100 million passengers each year thanks to the hard work and commitment of our airfield operations personnel at both O’Hare and Midway.”
Chicago’s airports have demonstrated an outstanding record for safety and continually receive high marks by the FAA for meeting safety guidelines and standards. Over the last two decades, O’Hare and Midway have achieved perfect scores for Part 139 inspection numerous times.
