DISCOVERING NEW HORIZONS
2013-06-03 — /travelprnews.com/ — This summer, Air France is flying to new destinations in Malaysia, Uruguay and the United States. From Paris-Charles de Gaulle, you can fly to Montevideo, on one of the 5 weekly flights, or to Kuala Lumpur, on one of the 3 weekly flights. Minneapolis, in the United States, is also served this season until September 1, in addition to the existing service by Delta.
From Paris-Orly, new daily frequencies are available to Istanbul, Casablanca and Rome-Fiumicino.

NEW FEATURES IN LA PREMIÈRE
As from June 2013, La Première is welcoming the summer and is unveiling its new summer menu with a host of fresh flavours.
Put together your own seasonal salad on board, on departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, by choosing from a selection of quality seasonal ingredients and vinaigrettes. Enjoy the new dishes on offer in June and July 2013 designed by Joël Robuchon, the most Michelin-starred chef in the world, including fillet of roasted guinea fowl with chicken jus, peas, baby carrots and asparagus with honey or fillet of cod with eggplant caviar and sauce vierge. Enjoy one of our excellent wines from the wine list, including a Côtes de Provence Domaine Saint-André de Figuière 2012, chosen by Olivier Poussier, available for a two-month period.
NEW DISHES AVAILABLE ON THE “A LA CARTE” MENUS
This summer, discover our all-new “A la Carte” menus. These menus are offered as an alternative to the standard menu (free of charge) in the Premium Economy and Economy cabins, on most long-haul flights on departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly*. The “Ocean”, “Tradition”, “Bio” and “Une Sélection LENÔTRE” menus offer a host of culinary delights to be enjoyed by all.
Air France’s “A la Carte” menus can be reserved, at a price ranging from 12 to 28 euros, at airfrance.com when making a booking or in the “View/modify my booking” section, as well as from call centers and Air France ticket offices up to 24 hours before departure.
The Italia menu on departure from Paris and the 3 menus (Italia, Ocean and Tradition) offered on departure from the French Overseas Departments (Fort de France, Pointe à Pitre, Cayenne, Reunion Island) will be renewed for the winter 2013 season.
*except on flights to Delhi, Bombay, Amman, Damascus, Montreal, Toronto and Bangalore.
KIDS IN THE SPOTLIGHT ON AIR FRANCE
Every year, close to 350,000 unaccompanied children travel on Air France flights. Constant special attention is paid to these younger passengers by cabin crew on board and our staff on the ground.
At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, a “UM” lounge (Unaccompanied Minors) welcomes children with connections who are traveling alone and provides them with entertainment, such as video games, magazines and toys. Everything has been designed to accommodate children with connections in a fun and reassuring atmosphere. A UM lounge is also available at Paris-Orly airport.
On board long-haul flights, children can enjoy games, a rich and varied choice of movies and cartoons on individual screens and special menus up to the age of 12. Travel kits for children are also available and include several fun items including colouring books, travel logs, crayons and games.
FIND A STROLLER ON AIR FRANCE SHOPPING!
On the shopping.airfrance.com website, you can find the Yoyo stroller by Babyzen. Suitable from 6 months and for children weighing up to 15 kg, this lightweight stroller folds away in just 1 second. It can be carried on the shoulder with its strap and has seat that reclines to 140°, a single-handed handlebar and suspensions for each wheel. Available in black or red, you can easily travel with it on board our aircraft.
IMPROVED ASSISTANCE FOR DISABLED AND REDUCED-MOBILITY PASSENGERS
Air France does all it can to make travel easier for the 400,000 passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility who travel every year on Air France flights. Since May, the SAPHIR service now has new features.
A new standard-rate phone number (price of a local call in France) is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 6pm: 09 69 36 72 77. In addition, a call-back option is available atwww.airfrance.com giving passengers the opportunity to be called back by a SAPHIR agent immediately and free of charge. Finally, instant messaging also means customers can chat online with an agent, especially useful for deaf and hearing-impaired customers.
These features help Air France to better meet the needs of customers with disabilities or reduced mobility. They complement the services already available on the website: bookings, assistance and ticketing.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
WORLD MOVIES ON BOARD
During your trip on our long-haul aircraft, you can enjoy a variety of movies in their original language (including Chinese, Japanese and Korean). To better meet the tastes and cultural specificities of its international customers, Air France is gradually increasing its offer of “World Cinema” movies on board its long-haul flights.
Between May and August 2013, the number of movies on offer in this section will increase from 14 to up to 40 films in all cabin classes. The entire “World Cinema” selection is available in its original version with English subtitles and every month, between 5 and 10 films are renewed.
AIR FRANCE GOES DIGITAL
DIGITAL PRESS WITH THE AF PRESS APP
“AF Press” is a new app enabling travel saver cardholders* equipped with an iPad to download a selection of newspapers and magazines free of charge. This app complements the offer of paper press, enabling customers to download their favourite newspapers and magazines from 24 hours before their flight up to the departure time, so that they can read them before, during and after their trip.
The Air France app is gradually being expanded with French and international newspapers and magazines and will be extended throughout the year to all customers equipped with a personal screen, smartphone or iOS, Android or Windows 8 tablet. In addition, the Air France Magazine and Air France Madame can be downloaded for free, with or without a reservation on a flight, by all “AF Press” users.
