Members of topbonus, the airberlin frequent flyer program, to be given opportunity to collect even more miles

Double miles to celebrate Malaysia Airlines joining the oneworld airline alliance

2013-01-31 — /travelprnews.com/ — As a way of marking the occasion of Malaysia Airlines joining theoneworld® airline alliance, members of topbonus, the airberlin frequent flyer program, are to receive double topbonus award miles for flights booked with Malaysia Airlines from 1st February 2013 to 15th April 2013 and boarded between 15th February 2013 and 15th April 2013. Before they can take advantage of the mileage promotion, participants have to register via the promotional page airberlin.com/malaysiaairlines.

In return, members of the Malaysia Airlines bonus program Enrich collect double miles on airberlin flights booked from 1st February to 15th April 2013 and boarded up to that point.

Thanks to their cooperation, oneworld members offer frequent flyers special privileges and awards. This means that topbonus members can collect and redeem miles throughout the entire route network of the alliance. Among other benefits, holders of a topbonus Platinum Card (which corresponds to the oneworld Emerald status) and holders of a topbonus Gold Card (which corresponds to the oneworld Sapphire status) have access to 550 airport lounges worldwide.

Holders of the topbonus Platinum Card, which represents the highest status within the frequent flyer program, can check in at the First Class check-in desks of oneworld airlines irrespective of the class that they have booked. They also have the opportunity to take advantage of two new benefits for the oneworld Emerald status in all frequent flyer programs of the member airlines. These are access to the fast lane for security checks at selected airports and additional free baggage allowance above the standard limit for the cabin class booked, either as an extra item of baggage for fares with a piece concept or an additional 20kg of baggage if the limit is based on weight.

Holders of a topbonus Silver Card enjoy Ruby status within the oneworld airline alliance. Members of all three oneworld status tiers – Emerald, Sapphire and Ruby – are offered priority on standby and waiting lists with all oneworld airlines if the flight they wish to take is already fully booked. They can also use the Business Class Priority Check-in desk where this is offered by the airline operating as the carrier.
