(PRESS RELEASE) HONG KONG, 2026-Mar-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong has unveiled Terrace Boulud by Mandarin Oriental, introducing the city’s first restaurant by internationally acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud and marking the opening chapter of the hotel’s extensive renovation programme. The new rooftop French brasserie brings a refined interpretation of French living to Hong Kong, blending classic culinary traditions with the city’s contemporary energy.
Situated on the 25th floor of Landmark Prince’s and directly connected to the hotel, the venue represents Mandarin Oriental’s first dining concept located beyond its main property. The elevated setting offers panoramic views across Victoria Harbour and Central, positioning the restaurant as both a culinary destination and a new social hotspot in the city.
The official launch on 12 March brought together guests, media, and loyal patrons to experience the new space, which combines Parisian-inspired elegance with the vibrant character of Hong Kong. The opening also serves as an early glimpse into the broader transformation underway at the flagship hotel.
Chef Daniel Boulud described the opening as a significant milestone, highlighting his long-standing connection with Hong Kong and its dining culture. Having welcomed many guests from the city in his New York restaurants over the years, he noted that bringing his cuisine to Hong Kong represents the fulfilment of a long-held ambition.
The menu is built around four culinary themes that reflect Boulud’s philosophy: traditional French dishes, seasonal market-driven creations, vegetable-focused offerings, and globally inspired flavours. Together, these elements reinterpret the classic French brasserie through a modern lens, incorporating regional ingredients and influences.
During its initial phase, Terrace Boulud will offer evening dining alongside drinks and light bites on the terrace, with full lunch and dinner service set to follow in mid-April. Plans also include the introduction of an afternoon tea experience. Guests can expect a curated selection of wines, cocktails, and beverages designed to complement the menu, alongside an alfresco terrace setting that transitions from sunset gatherings to late-night occasions.
The restaurant’s design, created by Malherbe Paris, draws on the heritage of French brasseries and the romance of luxury travel. Interiors feature layered textures, crafted woodwork, and warm lighting, while large windows and outdoor spaces frame sweeping views of the harbour and skyline. Subtle references to Hong Kong’s local identity are woven throughout, creating a balance between global sophistication and regional character.
The debut of Terrace Boulud signals the beginning of a broader transformation for Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, involving an investment of more than USD 100 million. The renovation will encompass guestrooms, public areas, wellness facilities, and dining venues, with completion expected later this year. The initiative aims to modernise the property while preserving its long-standing reputation as one of the city’s most iconic luxury hotels.
Hotel leadership emphasised that the new restaurant reflects both a respect for the brand’s heritage and a forward-looking approach to hospitality, offering a preview of the experiences that will define the next phase of Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.
