KCI Airport Terminal A Roadwork to Close Curb Saturday Night

2012-10-18 — /travelprnews.com/ — Work is underway on the Terminal A loop road at Kansas City International Airport, including milling, full-depth repairs, paving, striping, and curb repairs. This extensive work has required the closure of some traffic lanes. To minimize inconvenience to travelers, work that requires terminal curb closure will be done in large sections during off-peak times and on weekends.

This weekend, weather permitting, milling and paving of the three lanes closest to the terminal will occur. Curb access of much of the terminal will be closed off from 5:00 p.m. Saturday until 4:00 a.m. Sunday. This will close the curb through half of Terminal A along the US Airways gates. The first curb access will be near United Airlines’ bag claim.

IMPORTANT NOTE: US Airways bags will all arrive at the United bag claim. All US Airways passengers will access the terminal from the United area or they may use the garage tunnels beneath the street. Customers are urged use these tunnels and not attempt to go over or around fencing into the construction zone.

After this weekend closure, the contractor will close down and work on the commercial lanes – from the median to the garage side. Commercial ground transportation providers will be using the terminal inside lanes for about a week, so there will be increased congestion through Terminal A.
