Jack London Square to host new Grilled Cheese Block Party this Saturday September 19

Event to feature a variety of grilled cheese dishes, craft beers, and music

Oakland, Calif., 2017-Aug-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Jack London Square is home to the new Grilled Cheese Block Party, this Saturday, as part of its summer series of food-themed events. From Noon to 6 PM, attendees can sample cheese-inspired dishes. Organizers expect more than 3,000 people to attend.

Throughout the summer, Jack London Square has hosted block parties including the Tacopocalypse and Fourth of July Backyard BBQ. This new event will include popular comfort food like mac-n-cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches. Admission is free, with beer and food available for purchase.

“Block parties are a growing success at the Oakland waterfront,” said Nick Cattaneo, Director of Events & Strategic Alliances at Jack London Square. “We’re excited to have these food-centered celebrations that highlight creative cooking, feature local breweries and offer music as part of the day’s entertainment.”

The Grilled Cheese Block Party features live music from rock band Pyrograph and more than 20 vendors will be selling their sweet and savory items.

Chef Yaku Moton-Spruill, a finalist from the Food Network Star program, will also be on hand to share cooking tips.

The last party in this series will be the Oyster Block Party on September 16, in Jack London Square. For more information, please visit the Jack London Square website.
