Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2019-Nov-04 — /Travel PR News/ — IntercityHotel has appointed three new Directors: With Thomas Bausch the Deutsche Hospitality puts on a young managerial talent who has emerged from Deutsche Hospitality’s own ranks. The 36-year old Mr. Bausch has been named General Manager of the 121-room IntercityHotel Celle with effect from 1 November and replaces the long-serving former general manager Birgit Borchert, who changes to Hildesheim. Suat Cavdar will be heading up the pre-opening phase at the IntercityHotel Saarbrücken, and his appointment also takes effect from the start of the month.
Thomas Bausch has performed extremely impressively in the role of Assistant Manager at the IntercityHotel Kassel over the past four years and is already very well acquainted with the IntercityHotel brand and with Deutsche Hospitality’s product portfolio. After originally qualifying as a hotel specialist, Mr. Bausch went on to gain a wealth of valuable experience in the areas of reception and reservations at various hotel groups. He subsequently successfully completed a traineeship at Accor Hospitality Germany GmbH.
Birgit Borchert, who had managed the IntercityHotel in Celle since 2011, will be remaining with the company. In her new position, she will guide the IntercityHotel Hildesheim through its pre-opening phase prior to taking over as Director. Ms. Borchert also commences her new duties at the start of the month.
Both the IntercityHotel Hildesheim and the new IntercityHotel Saarbrücken are scheduled to open for business in the second half of 2020. 41-year old Suat Cavdar has been entrusted with the task of supervising the pre-opening process and future direction of the hotel as the General Manager. Due to his previous positions as Hotel and Cluster Manager at Motel One he brings a host of leadership expertise to the table. Mr. Cavdar, who holds a degree in tourism and hotel management, began his career as Head of Reception at the Star Inn Hotel near Munich.
“We are delighted to continue to work with Birgit Borchert,” said Joachim Marusczyk, founding Managing Director of IntercityHotel GmbH. “Her many years of expertise will provide the perfect framework for success when the IntercityHotel Hildesheim launches next spring. We were also very pleased to secure the services of Suat Cavdar for our expansion plans in Saarbrücken. Mr. Cavdar is an experienced hotelier who will drive awareness of the IntercityHotel brand in the Saarland. Thomas Bausch is a young and highly motivated General Manager. We are excited to see the ideas and innovative concepts he will come up with. They will certainly give us food for thought.”
