Indianapolis Airport welcomes Allegiant Air’s inaugural flight to Palm Springs

Inaugural flight expands Indy airport connectivity to Western United States

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, 2021-Nov-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez comments on Allegiant Air’s inaugural flight today (Nov. 18, 2021) to Palm Springs out of Indianapolis.

“Today is a new day for Hoosiers looking to spend some sun-drenched time in the iconic desert oasis of Palm Springs. With Allegiant’s inaugural nonstop flight, Hoosiers now have convenient access to a top 10 California destination that was previously unserved out of Indy, and is a top U.S. leisure destination,” said Rodriguez.

Allegiant will also launch its inaugural flight to Key West in December.

The Allegiant Palm Springs nonstop flight expands West Coast connectivity out of Indianapolis. Currently, the Indy airport offers nonstop service to Los Angeles (LAX) on Allegiant, American, and Delta. United offers nonstop service to San Francisco (SFO) and Alaska Airlines offers nonstop service to Seattle (SEA).

The Indy airport also connects travelers to more destinations out West with nonstop service to Phoenix (PHX) on American and Southwest, and nonstop service to Tucson (TUS) on Allegiant. Nonstop service is available to Las Vegas (LAS) on Allegiant, Frontier, Spirit, and Southwest. Frontier, Southwest, and United all offer nonstop service to Denver (DEN). There’s more to come with Delta Air Lines resuming daily nonstop service to Salt Lake City (SLC) in December.

Rodriguez says the operations base Allegiant established at the Indy airport in 2018 has been advantageous, allowing the airline to be more agile during pandemic recovery with their route schedule and flight frequency.
