IHG Adopts Classroom at Al Noor Centre to Sponsor Education and Training for Students of Determination

(IN SHORT) IHG Hotels & Resorts has adopted a classroom at Dubai’s Al Noor Training Centre for People of Determination, sponsoring the SAIE Emerald Class of ten students for one year. Beginning June 24, 2025, the partnership funds transportation, specialist staff and therapies—including physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy, vocational training and vision rehabilitation—to prepare students for employment. Managing Director Haitham Mattar emphasised the value of employee engagement, while Al Noor Director Ranjini Ramnath highlighted the initiative’s potential to inspire broader corporate inclusion. Al Noor, a non-profit with a 40-year history, currently supports over 220 students through its programmes.

(PRESS RELEASE) DUBAI, UAE, 2025-Jun-25 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts has joined forces with Al Noor Training Centre for People of Determination in Dubai by adopting the SAIE Emerald Class, underscoring its dedication to fostering inclusivity. Through the Centre’s Adopt-a-Class initiative, IHG will fund a year-long programme benefitting ten students of determination, supporting their vocational and educational development.

The partnership launch on June 24, 2025, at Al Noor’s campus saw IHG leadership—including Managing Director Haitham Mattar—meet students and tour the newly branded classroom. The sponsorship covers vital needs: transportation to internships, hiring specialist educators, and delivering essential therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, vocational training and vision rehabilitation. This comprehensive support is designed to equip students with the skills and confidence needed for successful employment and community participation.

Aligned with IHG’s “Journey to Tomorrow” responsible business plan—which aims to impact 30 million lives by 2030—the initiative also invites hands-on involvement from IHG staff. Over the year, up to 20 employees will take part in a dedicated corporate volunteering day, alongside multiple engagement activities. Team members will mentor students both at Al Noor and within IHG properties, gaining real-world insights in roles across reception, housekeeping, food & beverage and administration. Successful participants may also be considered for internships and job placements within IHG.

“We’re proud to build on our collaboration with Al Noor that began last year,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, South West Asia, Middle East & Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Beyond financial investment, our goal is to mobilise our people to share skills and create meaningful connections, helping to shape a truly inclusive society.”

Ranjini Ramnath, Director of Al Noor Training Centre, added, “IHG’s commitment transforms lives by blending practical work experience with therapeutic support. We hope other organisations will be inspired to embrace inclusive practices and enrich our community.”

For over four decades, the non-profit Al Noor Training Centre has delivered education and vocational training to people of determination. Thanks to corporate sponsors like IHG, it continues to serve more than 220 students, empowering them to achieve independence and social integration.
