Ibis launches new music program, ibis Music

Paris, France, 2019-Mar-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Ibis’ new music program, ibis Music, is the latest step in the brand’s transformation, offering local residents and travellers a totally new experience in hospitality, creating vibrant social hubs for increased social interaction with the local community. The program is a 360˚ activation in music beginning with a contest that consists of 44 intimate mini concerts staged in ibis hotels across 17 countries, promoting ibis’ passion for music.

With a new brand positioning, conversion to mobile check-in, a new design direction and a new focus on food and beverage sales, the ibis Music program is set to provide a more modern and emotional proposition to appeal directly to music lovers. The ibis Music Contest launches March 29th 2019, however, all ibis hotels worldwide are encouraged to take part by staging their own in hotels music gigs beyond the official music contest activity. Artists, program and playlists available on www.ibis-music.com.

Bringing the passion of live music into our hotels

ibis’ new positioning is a continuing alignment with not only its brand values, heritage and previous collaborations with artists and festivals, but with a recognition of the universality of music. In Ipsos international survey recently conducted for ibis, 79% of respondents agreed that listening to music was essential in their lives. 84% claimed that music is a way to bond and share emotions, while 58% expressed a preference for listening to music while travelling. This research reinforces ibis’ position perfectly, demonstrating how intrinsically linked travel, hospitality and music are.

Love Live!

In a growing trend, 50% of those surveyed said they would rather listen to live performances than recorded music. 51% of respondents expect live concerts to be the first musical activity from a new hotel. As the positioning for the brand, ibis has recognised this is what is expected by their guests. Moreover, 40% expect live concerts to be performed by emerging artists. This is where working with Spotify, who will be identifying trends in local emerging music, has been essential, as the discovery of these artists through Spotify’s algorithms has brought them to ibis’ attention to perform live as ibis hotels.

All this research has clearly illustrated that when travelling, people like to discover local music, singers and groups, an opinion verified by 53% of those surveyed.

ibis’ partnerships with Sony Music UK’s 4th Floor Creative Group and Spotify demonstrates a shared set of brand values, a collaborative approach to the discovery of new music and talent and a common goal in bringing live music to the masses. Where Spotify believes in innovation and collaboration, Sony stands for dreams, curiosity and diversity. With ibis Hotels in the mix, their openness, sincerity and passion for live music supports a program that covers a diverse range of music worldwide, realising the dreams of emerging musicians.

A musical experience that benefits audience, artist and wider community

ibis Music is a program that brings audiences, established musicians and up-and-coming artists together in a live intimate concert series, to be held in ibis hotels in 17 countries.

The winner’s prize consists of working with Sony Music UK’s 4th Floor Creative Group to promote their band and mentoring through studio sessions to help launch their musical careers. It’s a prize package essential to the success of up-and-coming musical talent.

Established artists mentor up-and-coming musicians

Ibis brings its passion for music to life in so many ways

The ibis Music program, will see the roll out of activations and product propositions, implemented in ibis hotels worldwide. These are created to enrich the customer journey before, during and after staying at any ibis unit. These products and activities are centred around the music platform, with the organization of in-hotel gigs, the roll out of instruments to guests in the hotel lobby, alongside the equipping of hotel rooms and/or bathrooms with equipment for guests to enjoy listening to music. In some countries, the program will expand to include activities such as partnership with local music festivals, including Dot to Dot Festival in the UK and Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

The brand is currently working on offering packages specifically designed to attract musicians and music fans alike to the hotels, becoming a vibrant musical hub for guests, the local community and the music industry as a whole.

About ibis MUSIC

WE ARE IBIS. WE LOVE MUSIC, IT’S OUR PASSION.

The energy of the crowd, the rhythm of the music, the impulse to dance, the urge to sing, we are drawn to it. Live music is always more than just listening, it’s an experience, a binding force, it has the power to bring people together, to create memories.

Music is our passion, and it’s going be alive in our hotels. Our mission is to be a welcoming and vibrant musical lighthouse: a beacon, a place to listen as much as a place to stay. With music, we are open. This has two important sides. Firstly, we will host live music. Small intimate gigs with known and emerging artists, bringing our guests closer to the music they love, and offering them something new to fall in love with.

Secondly, we provide a platform that supports the emerging talent, connecting them with successful artists, giving them a stage to perform as well as somewhere to sleep in comfort, with the chance to play at an international festival.

So this is what we’re doing, ibis Music, for music fans, guests and artists alike, we are open.
