Holiday like a celebrity from Leeds Bradford Airport with British Airways

2013-01-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — British Airways has seen a boost in bookings to celebrity-favourite destinations this January, thanks to stars uploading pictures of their holidays to popular social media sites over the Christmas and New Year period.

Top destinations for stars included Dubai, enjoyed by Rita Ora, Denise van Outen and Nell McAndrew, and Australia – popular with Leonardo DiCpario, Mariah Carey and fellow Aussies Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman returning for New Year celebrations.

Meanwhile the draw of Central America saw couples Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux , Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and Jessica Alba and Cash Warren enjoy romantic breaks to Mexico.

The airline has also seen a rise in bookings to Hawaii, up by 100 per cent in the past year. Blessed with beautiful beaches and natural beauty, it’s no surprise that it’s popular with the jet-set, including Katy Perry and John Mayer, Steven Tyler, Jude Law and even the President of the United States, who all vacationed on the islands during the recent holidays.

Claire Bentley, British Airways Holidays Managing Director, said: “The start of the year is always the busiest time for bookings – people are back at work and need something to look forward to. The wet weather over Christmas, combined with lots of enticing pictures of celebrities on holiday has clearly influenced the rise we’re seeing in beach holidays.”

From the start of the summer programme on March 31 the newly launched British Airways’ flights from Leeds Bradford Airport will move to the airline’s flagship Heathrow home, Terminal 5.

Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport’s Commercial Director, commented: “Mexico and Dubai have long been popular with the rich and famous but thankfully you don’t have to be a celebrity to take advantage of the British Airways Holidays’ destinations available from Leeds Bradford Airport.

Yorkshire holidaymakers are now able to transfer swiftly to onward connections in just 60 minutes at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5. First, Club World, Club Europe, Gold and Silver Executive Club members may also take advantage of the six British Airways lounges in Terminal 5, giving passengers the opportunity to relax in style.”

The lounges embrace a decadent new look and feel with crystal chandeliers, fabrics by Osborne and Little, art installations and mood lighting to reflect the time of day. Crafted screens divide the lounges into sections. Beautiful wine bars are available for customers and restaurants will serve fresh food prepared in view of the traveler.

British Airways’ card-holders* are also entitled to complimentary access to LBA’s stylish business and leisure lounges, The Yorkshire Premier Lounge.

To holiday like an A-lister, British Airways is offering a number of great deals from Leeds Bradford airport with easy connections via London Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Visit ba.com or call 0844 493 0758 for further information.
