Historic Environment Scotland announces return of the popular £1 offer for Young Scot card-holders

Young Scots get the keys to the country as £1 day out returns

EDINBURGH, Scotland, 2019-Apr-02 — /Travel PR News/ — Historic Environment Scotland (HES) will be lowering drawbridges and opening gates to young people at historic sites across the country as the popular £1 offer for Young Scot card-holders returns.

HES will be partnering with Young Scot, along with the National Trust for Scotland and Historic Houses Scotland, to offer the discount to young people who want to explore Scotland’s historic sites.

Now in its second year, the £1 offer means that anyone aged 11-25 with a Young Scot card will be able to visit over 70 HES-managed Historic Scotland properties across the length and breadth of the country, including iconic sites such as Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle.

Cherry Campbell, star of Katie Morag, Clique and The Loch and a Young Scot Awards finalist, helped launch the campaign. She said:

“I absolutely love exploring Scotland’s historic buildings. Some of my favourites are Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Stirling Castle and I like to go back time and time again because you always discover something new.

This £1 offer is a fantastic opportunity for young Scots to discover some of the country’s most historical places and spaces and it’s a great way to do something different with friends over the spring and summer months.”
