The 26th International Air Cargo Forum and Exposition arrives in Atlanta October 2
ATLANTA – 2012-10-5 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will host the 26th International Air Cargo Forum and Exposition of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) October 2-4 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The 50th anniversary forum and exposition is presented in partnership with Delta Air Lines, UPS and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
“Atlanta and the world’s busiest airport will take center stage again this week as we welcome more than 4,000 global executives and air cargo professionals to our great city,” said Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. “Hosting TIACA in our hometown proves to the world that Atlanta is ready to compete and become No. 1 in global air cargo operations. Hartsfield-Jackson offers one of the lowest landing fees in the nation and remains a very strong market for air cargo carriers seeking to expand or begin new service.”
During the TIACA conference, air cargo leaders will meet and discuss industry trends, challenges and best practices. The 2012 meeting marks the first time since 2000 that the TIACA meeting will take place in the United States.

Airport officials expect the three-day conference to produce a direct economic impact of more than $3 million to the city. Hartsfield-Jackson’s ability to gain one new weekly cargo flight from the conference has an estimated economic impact of $5 million to $7 million.

It is fitting that TIACA returns to its roots on its 50th anniversary. The first TIACA Air Cargo Forum and Exhibition was held in Atlanta in 1962.
