BERLIN, 2015-9-8 — /Travel PR News/ — In summer 2016 Germania is to station another 148-seater Boeing 737 at Dresden Airport, which will be used on flights including its popular Dresden to Palma de Mallorca route. This aircraft is the airline’s second machine to be operated from Saxony’s capital city, significantly boosting the number of seats on offer.
By stationing a second aircraft here, Germania is responding to the consistently strong demand for direct flights from Dresden Airport to popular holiday destinations. Karsten Balke, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Germania: “Stationing our second aircraft in Dresden underlines our commitment to Saxony’s capital city. We are delighted with the confidence passengers are placing in us and that we will be able to offer holidaymakers from the region even more attractive flights from summer 2016 onwards.”
Particularly good news for holidaymakers in Saxony is that almost all summer 2016 flights from Dresden are already open for booking*. Destinations include Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands and the Greek islands of Kos, Crete and Rhodes. Featuring next year for the first time will be Germania flights to Paphos in Cyprus and Malaga in Andalusia, Spain. There will also be daily flights to Palma de Mallorca. Passengers will not only benefit from a wider choice of flights, but also from an all-inclusive service: 20 kg baggage allowance, soft drinks, snacks and, depending on the length of the flight, a hot meal will be included on all Germania flights from Dresden Airport from now on.
Markus Kopp, CEO of Mitteldeutscher Flughafen AG: “We appreciate the commitment and trust Germania has placed in our airport. The stationing of a second aircraft to service the holiday flight segment at Dresden is very good news. It will enable Germania to offer even more non-stop flights. Its recent announcement of new flights to Malaga and Paphos is a wonderful birthday present for Dresden Airport’s 80th anniversary, which we are celebrating on 19 and 20 September. Germania will also be taking part in this event: its sightseeing flight is already almost sold out. We are also hoping for full capacities on its regular flights so that they can be maintained in the long term.”
