GBTA Foundation’s Project ICARUS opens nominations for 2016 North American Sustainability Outstanding Achievement Awards

Awards Recognize Outstanding Achievements in Furthering Sustainability in Business Travel and Meetings

Alexandria, VA, 2016-1-7 — /Travel PR News/ — GBTA Foundation’s Project ICARUS announces the call for applications and nominations is now open for the fourth annual Outstanding Achievement Awards for Sustainability in business travel and meetings across North America.

Through these awards, GBTA Foundation looks to recognize travel buyers, suppliers, intermediaries, individuals and groups who can demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation and commitment to delivering best in class sustainability programs, products and services across North America.

“The continued growing awareness of the importance of responsible travel management has driven a significant increase in the number of companies building sustainability principles into their business travel and meetings programs,” said Bernard Harrop, head of sustainability for Project ICARUS. “We look forward to once again recognizing companies and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the drive for greater sustainability in our industry.” Recipients will be will be announced and presented with a specially commissioned bronze Project ICARUS award at the annual GBTA Foundation Gala this April.
The closing date for applications is March 14, 2016.
