Frank Veenstra Joins Kempinski Leadership Team to Shape Next Chapter of Global Growth in Luxury Hospitality

(NEWS) GENEVA, Switzerland, 2025-Sep-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Kempinski Hotels has named Frank Veenstra as Chief Development Officer, positioning him to guide the company’s next growth phase as it strengthens its foothold in the ultra-luxury segment. In his new role, Veenstra will oversee Kempinski’s global development strategy, selecting high-value assets for investment, expanding growth through management agreements, and building a strong development team for long-term success.

CEO Barbara Muckermann praised Veenstra’s expertise in luxury hospitality and strategic growth, noting his ability to align evolving guest expectations with meaningful opportunities. Veenstra brings extensive experience from senior positions at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, NH Hotels, and Corinthia Hotels, and will work closely with Kempinski’s leadership to refine the project pipeline and elevate brand positioning. The appointment follows a year of heightened activity under Muckermann’s leadership, which has seen more refurbishment announcements than the previous decade combined, underscoring Kempinski’s commitment to evolving with a new generation of luxury travelers. Kempinski currently operates 75 properties in 33 countries, with more than 25 new projects in development worldwide.

Kempinski has also strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Hoda Tahoun as Chief Talent Officer, effective April 2025, to lead the Group’s global talent strategy during a period of ambitious transformation in the ultra-luxury segment. Reporting to Chief Human Resources Officer Karin Raguin, Tahoun will drive recruitment, development, and succession planning initiatives aimed at securing top-tier talent across the organization. With more than 27 years of experience in executive search, finance, and hospitality, including her most recent role at Russell Reynolds Associates, she brings deep expertise in attracting and nurturing exceptional leaders. CEO Barbara Muckermann emphasized that Tahoun’s appointment reinforces Kempinski’s commitment to sustainable growth and a people-centric culture, ensuring the brand continues to deliver extraordinary guest experiences as it evolves its heritage of timeless luxury.
