Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai announces an evening-long candlelit events and environmental initiatives this Earth Hour
An evening-long celebration of candles, community and connection
Hoi An, Vietnam, 2018-Mar-19 — /Travel PR News/ — This Earth Hour, discover the many shades of green at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam: a living, breathing ode to Mother Nature from its 4,500 palm trees – 80 percent of the Resort is tropical gardens – to its earth-honouring Spa, candlelit events and environmental initiatives.
From 8:30 pm local time on Saturday, March 24, 2018, the Resort will join thousands of landmarks, homes and hotels across the region turning their lights off for the annual demonstration to call for greater action on climate change. And – as a further demonstration to its ongoing commitment to the cause – the Resort will be extending its 8:30 to 9:30 pm powering down of all non-essential electricity to a full evening-long candlelit extravaganza at La Senwith a lively “lights out” Candlelit Waterfront Street Food Night: a community-minded coming together of live cooking stalls and local performers lit by an ambient array of more than 500 candles.
Prior to the candle-lit dining event, guests are invited to gather at the new Thanh Tĩnh Yoga Pavilion where soft light and soothing music will set the scene for a special Candlelight Heart Awakening Yoga Class: a slow heart-opening practice including meditation and pranayama.
And, for a celebration suitable for all ages, The Heart of the Earth Spa’s evening “A Goodnight Kiss to the Earth” ritual invites all guests to meet in the Spa’s candlelit reception, write a love letter to Mother Earth, and float it on the Spa’s lotus pond to the sounds of crystal singing bowls tuned to 432 hertz, the harmonic intonation of nature.
Last year, Vietnam saved 471,000 kilowatt hours of electricity after asking residents to switch off unnecessary electrical devices for one hour in response to the Earth Hour campaign, now in its 12th year globally. “Any global initiative that highlights green causes is important,” comments The Nam Hai’s General Manager Anthony Gill. “But the key thing with Earth Hour is to take it as an opportunity to improve our commitment to the environment, rather than just participating in it as a one-off annual event. As the world powers down, hosting these events is a great way to get people to slow down, reconnect in softly lit surroundings, and think about steps they can take to reduce their energy consumption. As a Resort, our focus for the coming year is equally to find more ways to decrease our energy consumption, and dedicate ourselves to more Earth and less electricity.”
The Many Shades of Green at The Nam Hai
The Nam Hai’s onsite herb and vegetable farm supports its Cooking Academy, restaurants, bars and Spa with more than 35 seasonal varieties. The Resort also features Green Option Housekeeping services and refillable toiletry dispensers, uses electric motors in all of its golf buggies, and is actively seeking to reduce its energy use by pursuing solar options – such as its back-of-house solar farm and solar water heaters in the Pool Villas. The Heart of the Earth Spa uses eco-friendly JURU (jute and natural rubber) yoga mats alongside natural products chosen for their ethical purity, harvested in ways that honour the Earth and her communities – including ingredients grown on site.
