Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay Hosts Wyland Giving Tree This Holiday Season

Renowned marine life artist’s work to benefit the Wyland Foundation and Lanai Cancer Fund

Hawaii, Lana’i at Manele Bay, U.S.A. – 2012-11-29 — /travelprnews.com/ — This holiday season, good tidings at Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay will run from the depths of the oceans into the hearts of the Lanai community. In the spirit of giving, Four Seasons, in partnership with renowned marine life artist and environmentalist Wyland, will host a special evening of art and philanthropy at the inaugural Wyland Giving Tree project, benefiting the Wyland Foundation and the Lanai Cancer Fund. The special event will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 5:00 pm in Manele Bay’s lower lobby lounge.

“It is truly an honour to partner with Wyland, a renowned leader in environmental fine art and conservation, to host the Giving Tree project,” says Tom Roelens, general manager of Four SeasonsResorts Lanai. “This is a unique opportunity for visitors to give the gift of aloha to the Lanai community and make an invaluable contribution to promote environmental awareness among guests, employees and the community.”

“A large part of what the Wyland Foundation has done over the last two decades has been to instill a sense of optimism in people about the natural world around them,” Wyland said. “Everyone needs to feel a sense of hope, especially those who are ill. The Giving Tree project is a great way to reassure people in the fight against cancer that we’re all in this together.”

Inspired by the pristine underwater realm of diverse marine life and dramatic ocean topography of Lanai, the decorative Wyland Giving Tree will play homage to the island’s frequent visitor – the spinner dolphin. Guests are invited to donate USD 25.00 towards the purchase of a special collector’s edition holiday ornament, featuring one of Wyland’s signature dolphin sumi-e brush paintings, accompanied by a personalized autograph signing session. In addition, Wyland will create a sumi-e brush painting live at the event, followed by a silent auction to benefit the non-profits.

Founded in 1993 by Wyland, the Wyland Foundation has helped children and families around the nation to rediscover the importance of healthy oceans and waterways through public art programs, classroom science education, and live events. The foundation gives children the tools they need to become more creative, positive, and solution-based.

Whether on the beach at Manele Bay or in the upcountry of The Lodge at Koele, Four Seasons Resorts Lanai offer an array of activities, services and flavourful dining options, allowing families to reconnect and create lasting memories this holiday season. Executive Chef Kevin Erving and his talented culinary team have pulled out all the stops with a variety of decadent dining options and seasonal specialty menus. For the active guest, the Resorts offer a variety of engaging activities, ranging from cultural programs such as ukulele and “talk story” sessions to Kids For All Seasons programs ranging from spa to taro planting and Teen Rock Star parties; plus culinary and mixology classes for the adults. Whatever one’s interest, Four Seasons Resorts Lanai is an idyllic retreat to celebrate the holidays – Hawaiian style.
