Flybe launches Sunday services between Newcastle – Cardiff

Kirmington, England, 2019-Nov-26 — /Travel PR News/ — Flybe is introducing Sunday services between Newcastle – Cardiff operated by its franchise partner, Eastern Airways, to complement the weekday flights already operated.

The additional services will commence on 12 January 2020. Fares start from £99 one way, including taxes and charges and are available now to book at flybe.com.

Sunday flights will depart Newcastle at 1.05pm and return from Cardiff at 3.15pm.

The news follows Flybe’s recent announcement that it will operate flights to London Southend from Newcastle Airport for summer 2020 and increase services on its Newcastle – Southampton route.

Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ General Manager Commercial and Operations, said: “By adding the Sunday services, these flights will not only appeal to business travellers heading to Cardiff or Newcastle in advance of Monday, but also leisure passengers taking advantage of weekend breaks or sporting events in both vibrant cities.  These additional services also complement the route expansion Flybe has recently announced from Newcastle.”

Leon McQuaid, Head of Aviation Development for Newcastle International Airport added: “It is great to see further investment from Flybe as they enhance their Cardiff schedule, giving flexibility for our passengers and extra choice around the weekend.”

Eastern Airways has been providing scheduled services from Newcastle Airport since 2003, and as well as operating to Cardiff, the airline provides a choice of daily services to Aberdeen.
